Nova Scotia conducts pomegranate campaign
By Adnews Staff
The Province of Nova Scotia has begun a word-of-mouth marketing campaign intended to encourage people in a number of markets to talk about the province in a new way. The campaign centres on a website at <http://www.pomegranatephone.com>, which purports to be the site of a new smartphone that includes a film projector, a universal translator, a coffee maker, an electric shaver and a harmonica. The site then shifts to the message that, even if an all-in-one phone doesn't exist, Nova Scotia is an all-in-one place. Last week, promotional workers in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Boston began sending emails to personal contacts in those markets inviting them to visit the site. In addition, 600 pomegranates printed with the website address were distributed in Toronto, Boston and Ottawa.
