Vision Co. gains two accounts

Toronto-based marketing firm Vision Co. has been hired by the Arizona Office of Tourism to handle media relations in Canada. The firm will work to communicate Arizona's brand in Canada and promote its tourism offerings such as adventure travel. "The state is a premier travel destination for Canadians, offering first-class shopping and spas, 300 golf courses and natural wonders like the Grand Canyon," said agency vice-president Charmaine Singh. "Our team is eager to build the brand and ultimately increase visitation from Canada." According to the company, Arizona received approximately 500,000 Canadian visitors in 2006. Vision Co. has also been retained by the Greater Houston Convention and Visitor's Bureau to operate an office for the Texas city in Toronto. The office will provide tourism marketing and media relation services, and will work to increase Canadian travel to Houston."Houston is a destination that is ideal for both business and leisure travelers and we are looking forward to building partnerships and creating innovative campaigns to increase visitation from Canada," said Singh. According to the agency, approximately 333,000 Canadians visited Texas in 2006.
