Kia Canada begins Summer Selldown campaign
By Adnews Staff
Auto maker Kia Canada has begun a national advertising campaign to promote a sales initiative called the “Summer Selldown.” The bilingual campaign, developed by Publicis Canada of Toronto, consists of two 30-second television commercials, a 30-second radio ad, billboards, newspaper ads, online banners and in-dealership materials. The campaign will also include a series of events at dealerships. The ads promote a special financing offer intended to clear out the company’s 2007 vehicles. The creative makes use of two sunflower characters with human faces. “This campaign is a fresh approach to retail automotive advertising,” said Duncan Bruce, senior vice-president and executive creative director of Publicis Canada. “Kia campaigns have always had an offbeat sense of humour and mischief that is core to the brand.” The campaign broke on June 25.
