Waste Management of Canada conducts national campaign
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Waste Management of Canada began a new advertising campaign yesterday to promote the importance of recycling and waste diversion. The campaign consists of three television commercials and supporting print ads, released to coincide with the start of Waste Reduction Week in Canada. The ads describe the company’s recycling programs, green energy production and wildlife protection activities. “The goal of this campaign is to link everyday curb-side collection to environmental protection in the minds of consumers,” said Wes Muir, the company’s director of corporate communications. “The average Canadian generates two kilograms of waste each day. What most people don’t realize is that waste is a resource that can be recycled or even used to produce energy.” The TV ads will break on national networks on Oct. 16.
