Toronto Star hires Draft

The Toronto Star has retained Draft of Toronto as its marketing agency after a review involving an unknown number of firms. The assignment includes an integrated marketing campaign and the development of a brand strategy for the Toronto Star and thestar.com. "We initiated a search for a marketing agency in February 2006 and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of work that the agencies presented in our final round," said Greg Loewen, vice-president of marketing and strategy at the newspaper. "Draft delivered an exceptional, creative pitch that showcased the firm's deep understanding of both our business and the Toronto Star's unique history and its role in the GTA." Genesis Media will continue to be the newspaper's media buying agency.
