Advertising auction website launched

A new website called Mediabids.ca has been launched. The site consists of a commission-based auction for advertisers and media companies to buy and sell ad space. Media outlets can place advertising inventory into the auction. Advertisers can either bid on the inventory or purchase the space immediately. "The idea began as a way for my race team to increase sponsorship and ad sales," said company founder Shayne Morten, who also owns Montreal-based auto racing team Atom Racing. "But as the plan took shape, it became apparent that it was a good idea for any type of media to increase ad sales. In a sort we are the Ebay of advertising in Canada."
