By Adnews Staff
Oyco Systems of Vancouver has begun a contest aimed at adults aged 18 to 30 to promote its Oyco.com website. The online service allows users to access instant messages, text messages, email accounts, video conferences and other Internet-based forms of communication through a single personalized webpage. During the contest, which will run from Oct. 27 to Dec. 27, visitors to the site can enter by submitting messages written in abbreviated text message slang. Three prizes of $1,000 will be awarded to the top entries, judged by brevity, intelligence and creativity. "Email, text messaging and online chat groups as communication methods have grown exponentially," said company president Paul Cross. "As a result, net slang is flourishing and becoming a global language. As Canada's first all-in-one messaging portal, Oyco wants to reward net slang innovators."
