Partners and Edell to brand program for immigrant employment council

Toronto-based Partners and Edell has been retained by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council to develop branding for a new awards program aimed at companies that bring skilled immigrants into the workforce. The corporate recognition program will begin with a call for entries in January 2006, conducted in association with The Toronto Star and Canadian HR Reporter. The first awards will be distributed in May. "Numerous companies recognize the value of international experience by hiring or mentoring skilled immigrants," said Lillian Manea, the council's communications coordinator. "Through our awards program, it is our turn to recognize these companies who are contributing so significantly to our community. We selected Partners and Edell to lead this project based on their past work and the creativity they brought to the table." The assignment includes the development of launch and recognition strategy, as well as its look and feel, name, logo and marketing materials. The council, an initiative of the Toronto City Summit Alliance and the Maytree Foundation, works to link immigrant skills with labour market needs in the Toronto region.
