The Toronto Eaton Centre shopping mall has signed as a sponsor of L'Oréal Fashion Week, an annual fashion design event produced by the Fashion Design Council of Canada. According to the Eaton Centre, this sponsorship will be the beginning of an ongoing relationship with the organization intended to deepen the shopping centre's connection to the Canadian and international fashion industry. L'Oréal Fashion Week will run from Oct. 17 to 22. The Eaton Centre is owned and operated by Cadillac Fairview.
Grocery store chain Dominion has become the naming sponsor of a hockey arena in Oakville, ON. The previously nameless venue will be known as Dominion Twin Rinks when it officially re-opens on Oct. 21. The company's naming sponsorship will last for five years. The Dominion logo will be displayed on the front of the building and at centre ice. The company will also receive exposure on the arena's video screens, scoreboard, brochures and website. Dominion will also conduct sampling programs at the arena. In return, the rink will use the six Dominion stores in the Oakville area to display promotional materials and solicit registrations to its hockey and skating programs. Information about the arena will also be included in Dominion flyers. The Dominion Twin Rinks will be the home ice of the Oakville Blades Junior A hockey team. The Dominion chain is owned by The Great Atlantic and Pacific Company of Canada.
