Avrich departs Echo Advertising to found new agency

Barry Avrich, president and CEO of Toronto-based Echo Advertising, has resigned from that firm to open a new advertising agency called Endeavour Marketing and Communications. Avrich will be joined at Endeavour by Larry Latowsky, former president and CEO of The Katz Group. Robert Hain has been appointed chairman of Echo. Hain was previously vice-chairman of London, England-based CSS Stellar Holdings, Echo's parent company. He has also been the CEO of AIM Trimark and Invesco Perpetual. Marilyn Sherman, most recently executive vice-president of media at Echo, has been promoted to the position of president. Sherman joined Echo in 1984 as a media director.
