Workopolis holds job guru contest
By Adnews Staff
Job search website Workopolis of Toronto has begun a contest called "Get Yourself a Guru." Three winners will receive a professional makeover, consisting of a day of job shadowing with one of several Canadian professionals, plus resume and interview coaching, a wardrobe shopping trip and a spa package. Travel expenses will also be included. The professionals who will be shadowed are chef Jamie Kennedy, CTV sportscaster Rod Black and Globe and Mail editor-in-chief Edward Greenspon. The winners will follow these people through a day of work in order to see what they do and ask them questions. To enter, Canadians must post their resumes at Workopolis between May 2 and 31. The job shadowing will take place in June. The contest was created by MindBlossom and Due North Communications, both based in Toronto. These agencies also handled the ad campaign for the contest. Newspaper advertising will run in the Globe and Mail and a number of papers in Southern Ontario. French-language print ads will run in Montreal and Quebec City. Radio advertising will take place in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal. Public relations are being handled by Environics Communications. The contest is located at <http://www.workopolis.com/content/guru>.
