Award show roundup

DDB Canada received 33 prizes at the 2005 Marketing Awards last week. The agency won eight golds, six silvers, three bronzes and 16 certificates. Two of the gold awards were for self-promotional campaigns conducted by DDB itself. The other gold awards were in various out-of-home, outdoor, print and magazine categories for work done for BC Dairy, Energizer Canada, First United Mission, Canada Wide Magazines and Li'l Niblets. The agency also received the Andy Rogers Award for public service campaigns for its First United Mission work. BBDO Canada won ten awards at the show, including three golds. One gold award was for a FedEx television commercial called "Chameleons." A magazine and television campaign for Pepsi Mini Cans received a gold, silver and bronze award in separate categories. A poster campaign for the Jeep brand also earned a gold award. The agency won additional awards for its work for Cascades Paper and its pro bono work for the ALS Society of Canada.
