ICA releases tsunami public service announcements

The Toronto-based Institute of Communications and Advertising has released two 30-second public service announcements intended to remind Canadians that the tsunami victims of South East Asia still need their support. The ads, which feature Celine Dion and Wayne Gretzky, invite viewers to visit the Government of Canada website for a list of reputable charities. The ads will begin running this month on major Canadian television networks and several other stations. Agencies involved in the campaign include Young & Rubicam, Marketel, FCB Canada, Zig and Mediaedge:cia. Production was handled by Aquila, Blue Highway, The Juggernaut and Company X. Media companies donating airtime include CTV, CanWest Global, TVA, Radio-Canada, TQS, Télé-Québec, Chaines Télé Astral and Météomédia.
