Zip.ca sponsors Victoria independent film festival

Online DVD rental service Zip.ca, based in Ottawa, has signed on as a sponsor of the 2005 Victoria Independent Film & Video Festival. Zip.ca will be the exclusive online DVD sponsor of the festival, which will take place from Feb. 4 to 13 in Victoria, BC. Customers of the site will be able to rent films from past festivals as well as all the DVD-released films from this year's festival. According to the company, this will be the first time these films are available to a national audience. Last year Zip.ca sponsored the Toronto International Film Festival and the Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival. The company also made a two-year commitment to support the Film Circuit national independent film screening program.
