NOKIA BEGINS SAY HELLO TORONTO PROMOTION
By Adnews Staff
Cell phone maker Nokia has begun a new out-of-home effort called "Say Hello Toronto." Developed by The Media Company and Outdoor Broadcast Network, both based in Toronto, the initiative involves seven video displays around downtown Toronto. Promotional workers in Dundas Square will take photographs of pedestrians with Nokia 3220 and 6225 camera phones. The pictures will be displayed on the screens within an hour. The displays are located along Yonge Street in the neighbourhood of Dundas Square. Nokia maintains that it is the first cell phone company to engage in an initiative of this type. "With the Say Hello Toronto program, Nokia is creating a unique experience that demonstrates one exciting way that people can go beyond voice to connect with one another, while also showcasing one of the many creative uses of mobile capabilities like picture and video messaging," said Grace Belmonte, marketing director for Nokia Products. Pictures will be taken from Dec. 20 to Dec. 24. They will continue to be displayed until Jan. 2.
