COSSETTE INSTALLS KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE SYSTEM

Montreal-based Cossette Communication Group has installed a new knowledge exchange system for its staff members called "The Fridge." The Web-based system is accessed through the company's intranet. Its purpose is to facilitate the access and exchange of information for the firm's 1400 employees. The system is divided into four areas. The first is a collection of employee profiles intended to make it possible to find people with specific skills and experiences for new projects. The second area contains a collection of research materials, presentations and other documents that may be useful in the creative process. The third section is a list of links to outside Web sites concerning communications, marketing and business. The final area is a message board for staff members to communicate directly with each other. All of the firm's employees are expected to contribute material to this data store, which will be updated daily. "Our aim with The Fridge is to achieve maximum leveraging of all the knowledge, ideas and talent that abound within our organization," said Cossette president François Duffar. "The Fridge is poised to become a vital work tool for our teams in all our units and divisions worldwide." Cossette divisions Fjord, Graphème and Blitz worked on the construction of the system, which is based on software from Ixiasoft.
