DESIGNER DEPOT HIRES SEGAL COMMUNICATIONS

The Toronto-based Hudson Bay Company has hired Segal Communications of Toronto to promote a new store called Designer Depot. The retail outlet store sells discounted clothing and home accessories. Segal has been retained as the store's events and promotions agency. "Segal's hands-on approach to marketing and event communications will ensure we are successfully supporting our message to the appropriate audiences," said Geri McCuish, senior manager of PR and events at the Bay. In addition, Segal and Lowe Roche have created an advertising campaign for the store called "Practically Stealing." This effort consists of radio, print, subway and billboard advertising, plus a Web site. The creative is intended to illustrate the store's low prices. The campaign began earlier this month and will run into December.
