MARKETING HALL OF LEGENDS INDUCTS FIRST MEMBERS

The Toronto-based Marketing Hall of Legends has inducted its first group of members since coming into existence in May. "The inaugural list is impressive and certainly confirms what we already knew; per capita, Canada produces fantastic marketers in greater numbers," said organization co-chair Stefan Danis. "After culling through 250 nominations, we are very delighted with this initial inductee list," said Jim Warrington, the other co-chair of the hall. The inductees fall into four categories. The hall's first Visionaries are Tim Horton's co-founder Ron Joyce, Dave Nichol of Dave Nichol & Associates, Roots co-founders Michael Budman and Don Green, and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte. The group of Builders includes Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation president Paul Alofs, Sleep Country Canada president Christine Magee and CEO Stephen Gunn, and Judy Elder of Ogilvy & Mather. The first Enablers are Frank Palmer of DDB Canada and Paul Lavoie of Taxi. Finally, the list includes one Mentor: Alan Middleton, executive director of the Executive Education Centre and assistant professor at the York University Schulich School of Business.
