NINTENDO BEGINS TOO MUCH FUN CAMPAIGN

Vancouver-based Nintendo of Canada broke its first Canada-specific television advertising campaign last week. The four commercials, running in English and French, are aimed at teenagers. The campaign uses a new tagline: "Too Much Fun." The ads promote several new and upcoming games including "Player's Choice," "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year-Door" and "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes." An out-of-home campaign will also begin in several weeks. A Web site will also be opened at <http://www.toomuchfun.ca>. The campaign was created by Alias, a division of Cossette Communication-Marketing. Public relations for Nintendo are handled by Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto.
