MONSTER.CA BEGINS CAMPAIGN, CONTEST

Montreal-based job site Monster.ca has begun several new initiatives for the fall, including a joint promotion with daily commuter paper Metro, new advertising and an online contest. The arrangement with Metro, which began last week, is part of an on-going effort to boost the Monster.ca's visibility in Montreal and Toronto. Today the company will break a bus board campaign in the Greater Toronto Area. Four ads will run on 600 boards for the next eight weeks. Monster.ca is also running a 35' x 30' poster on the Olympic Spirit Landmark building in Toronto that displays the copy, "Be so successful, even you envy you." The poster will run for 12 weeks. Further advertising will include a four-week radio campaign that will begin on Oct. 4. The campaign, which will run on four Toronto radio stations, will promote the site's Job Search Agent. The online contest will run until the end of October. Visitors to the site can win a $10,000 package of television equipment. The contest is being promoted with radio advertising in the GTA and online ads on Monster.ca and Sympatico.ca. Advertising for Monster.ca is done by Arnold Worldwide Canada. Public relations are handled by Porter Novelli Canada.
