By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Coca-Cola will begin distributing its C2 beverage in Canada next month. The drink contains half the calories, sugar and carbs of Coca-Cola Classic. National television advertising for C2 will break on Aug. 23. The commercial uses the Rolling Stones song "You Can't Always Get What You Want." The ad ends with the copy, "Until Now." Radio, print, out-of-home and in-store materials will also be part of the campaign, which will use the tagline, "1/2 the carbs. 1/2 the cals. All the great taste of Coca-Cola Classic." Coca-Cola will also conduct a sampling program for C2 in major Canadian cities next month. The advertising was created by Berlin Cameron-Partners of New York and adapted for Canada by MacLaren McCann of Toronto. Public relations are being handled by Apex Public Relations of Toronto. In related news, Pepsi-Cola Canada will begin distributing a new cola called Pepsi Edge next month. This drink also contains half the carbohydrates, sugar and calories of regular Pepsi. The drink will be promoted with in-store materials created by Hunter Straker of Toronto and with public relations from Praxis Public Relations of Mississauga.
