MDC BUYS INTO SAN DIEGO CREATIVE AGENCY

Toronto-based MDC Partners has purchased a 68% interest in VitroRobertson of San Diego for an unknown sum. The creative agency, founded in 1992 by John Vitro and John Robertson, specializes in brand-building communications. The firm has a staff of 50. Its clients include ASICS, Taylor Guitars, Cobra Golf, Baby Einstein, Kyocera Wireless, Newcastle Brown Ale, Quidel, Yamaha WaterCraft and Baskin Robbins. MDC also owns interests in Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners of New York, Cliff Freeman & Partners of New York, Henderson Bas of Toronto, Mono of Minneapolis, Bruce Mau Design of Toronto and Hello Design of Los Angeles.
