APEX GAINS TWO ASSIGNMENTS

Apex Public Relations of Toronto has been appointed P.R. agency of record by Jergens Canada. The agency will manage public relations for the beauty care company's Jergens, Curel, Biore and Ban products, as well as the John Frieda line of haircare products. Apex received the assignment without a review. "Jergens Canada has worked with Apex for several years and is extremely pleased with the agency's approach to public relations in Canada," said Jergens manager of public relations Monica Rowe. The agency's work will include media tours, events, product launches and media relations.
Apex has also been retained by liquor distributor Maxxium Canada to handle public relations for the introduction of RémyRed, a line of three fruit-flavoured cognac liqueurs from Rémy Martin. The beverages, which are aimed primarily at fashionable young women, come in Red Berry, Strawberry Kiwi and Grape Berry varieties. Apex, which has done work for Maxxium since 2002, received this assignment without a review. "I was impressed by their proven success within the beverage and entertainment category," said Maxxium national marketing manager Celine Delorme.
