GENERAL MILLS BEGINS BERRY BURST CHEERIOS CONTEST
By Adnews Staff
General Mills Canada of Mississauga is holding a contest called the Berry Burst Cheerios Vocal Search. The national contest is seeking the voice for an English-language television commercial that will launch the new Strawberry and Triple Berry Berry Burst Cheerios cereals in Canada. Contestants enter by leaving an audition voicemail on the contest hotline. The contest runs until April 23. A panel of judges will determine the winner. The final television commercial will feature music and lyrics from "I Think I Love You." The winner will have his/her voice included in the audio sound track for the commercial set to air the end of May. The winner also receives a CD of the TV vocal recording session and a trip for two to the Bahamas. General Mills has partnered with Corus Entertainment radio stations across Canada to raise awareness of its Berry Burst Cherrios Vocal Search. Advertising for Cheerios is done by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto. Public relations for General Mills is handled by Optimum Public Relations, also of Toronto.
