SMUCKER PROMOTES JIF PEANUT BUTTER IN CANADA

J.M. Smucker (Canada) of Toronto has released Jif peanut butter in Canada. The brand was introduced in the U.S. in 1958. Promotion for the product will include a Web site at <www.jif.ca>, in-store materials and a rebate offer. Additional marketing will include sampling programs and traveling promotions that will begin in Toronto in May. Several cars with peanuts on their roofs will travel from Toronto to Vancouver to distribute samples at events through the summer. A contest will award one consumer a Mini Cooper Classic. The Web site was created by Commix Communications of Thornhill, ON. The upcoming sampling promotion will be executed by InField Marketing Group of Mississauga. Public relations for the brand are being handled by Praxis Public Relations, also based in Mississauga.
