PHILIPS PROMOTES SPONSORSHIP OF LEAFS, RAPTORS

Philips is promoting its sponsorship of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors with a contest and several events. The campaign is being handled by Toronto-based TrojanOne. It includes stickers on the packages of Philips products which direct consumers to a Web site at <http://www.mapleleafs.com/philishave>. Visitors to the site can enter a draw for Leafs prizes, Philishave products and other items. To promote its sponsorship of the Raptors the company will host a Philishave Night at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday. A barbershop display will be installed in the arena to demonstrate products and collect contest entries. Accapella group "The Show" will also perform at the display. Philips will also host several hockey events in the Greater Toronto Area as part of this initiative, but no specifics are available. Philips is in its first year of its sponsorship agreement with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. The company's products are the official electric shavers of the Leafs and the Raptors.
