FORD RELEASES F-150 INFOMERCIAL

As part of its campaign for the 2004 F-150 pickup truck, Ford Motor Company of Canada has created a long-format infomercial. This is the first time the company has used an infomercial in its marketing strategy. The 30-minute program, which will run until Nov. 6, describes the features of the vehicle and depicts four people doing driving exercises that, according to the company, would not possible with other pickup trucks. The campaign's tagline is "Rethink Truck." Ford will produce a second informercial as part of the marketing campaign for its 2004 Freestar minivan. Currently in production, that infomercial will be released next month. Advertising for the F-150 and the Freestar is handled by Young & Rubicam of Toronto.
