NEW PAGING COMPANY IN CANADA

Dallas-based PageMart Inc. has opened a Canadian arm. The new Toronto-based company plans to start operating its service in Toronto on April 1 and then quickly expand to Vancouver and Montreal. PageMart expects to roll out to most other major Canadian cities by the end of 1996. National advertising will start in April, handled by Mainstay Communications of Toronto. Print will be used to target consumers, and direct mail to reach dealers and other companies. Canadian subscribers will be able to users their pagers in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. TD Capital Group and Working Ventures Canadian Fund own a majority of shares in the new company. PageMart International, a subsidiary of PageMart Inc. is a minority shareholder. Leslie Taylor has been named president of the Canadian operation. He comes from Motorola Canada's paging services division where he was vice-president and general manager. Rob Graham is PageMart Canada's sales and marketing vice-president. He was previously director of Rogers Cantel Merchandising, and before that, business development and marketing director for The Beeper People.
