INTERPUBLIC MAKES BELL CHAIRMAN, CEO

David Bell has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of the Interpublic Group of Companies. Bell replaces John Dooner, who who has been made chairman and CEO of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup. James Heekin, current chairman and CEO of McCann-Erickson, is leaving the company. Bell has been a vice-chairman with Interpublic since the company's acquisition of True North Communications in 2001. Bell was chairman and CEO of True North at that time. Interpublic's other operating groups include The Partnership, FCB Group, Interpublic Sports and Entertainment and Advanced Marketing Services.
