TORY TO LEAVE ROGERS TO RUN FOR MAYOR OF TORONTO

John Tory, chairman and CEO of Toronto-based Rogers Cable, is preparing to depart the company to run for the office of mayor of the City of Toronto. On Friday the company appointed Edward Rogers, son of company founder Ted Rogers, to the positions of president and co-CEO of Rogers Cable. Tory will remain chairman and co-CEO during the transition period. He will then leave the company to work full-time on his campaign. In addition, Dean MacDonald has been promoted to the positions of executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Rogers Cable. He was previously senior vice-president of government relations at RCI and interim senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Rogers Cable.
