O'KEEFE CENTRE TO GET A FACELIFT

Toronto's O'Keefe Centre will have a new name in the fall: The Hummingbird Centre For The Performing Arts. Software maker Hummingbird Communications has pledged $5 million for renovations to the theatre complex owned by Metropolitan Toronto. Hummingbird will pay $1.1 million when the deal is signed, and $650,000 annually for another six years. The Hummingbird name will remain on the building for 20 years. Hummingbird is headquartered in Toronto with offices in the U.S. and Europe. It had revenues of $33 million last year selling software that integrates personal computers into large corporate networks.
