CLARICA HIRES DOUG AGENCY

Clarica Life Insurance of Waterloo, ON has appointed doug agency its agency of record after using the Toronto firm on an interim basis. The company conducted an agency review earlier this fall. Clarica's account was previously handled by Ammirati Puris of Toronto. After that agency closed earlier this year, doug agency handled the English-language brand advertising until a full review could be conducted. Zig, DCC Communications, J. Walter Thompson and John Street, all of Toronto, were also considered for the account, according to Clarica's director of brand presence Dave Dineen. Leo Burnett also submitted a proposal but pulled out due to a conflict. Doug will work with BCP of Montreal, which previously handled French-language advertising for Clarica, and Fortune of Toronto, which handles Asian advertising.
