LOLA MOVES TO PAID CIRCULATION
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based art and culture magazine Lola will switch from a controlled to a paid circulation with its winter issue, due out on Friday. The independently published magazine has a circulation of 12,000. The publication is distributed for free at some Toronto art galleries and on newsstands elsewhere in Canada. It will now also be sold on newsstands in the Greater Toronto Area. "We have strong evidence from a reader survey conducted in the spring that our readers are willing to pay for Lola and want to be sure of finding a copy which routinely flew out of distributor's hands as soon as they were dropped," said Sharon Salson Gregg, publisher of Lola. The magazine will be re-launched in 2003 to promote a revised design, Salson Gregg said. Lola is published quarterly.
