HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN TO RELEASE INFOMERCIAL

The Hospital for Sick Children will release a new direct response television program on Nov. 22. Called "Place of Miracles: Inside The Hospital for Sick Children," the program is intended to raise support for the hospital. Hosted by actor Paul Gross, the show tells the stories of several patients and features appeals by celebrities including Jackie Chan, Mike Myers, Sonja Smith, Gordon Pinsent and Sheila McCarthy. The program will air nationally on CTV and on local stations in 30- and 60-minute versions. It will run until the spring of 2003 and possibly longer, according to Deborah McNorgan, manager of public affairs for the hospiral. The program was created by Eagle-com Inc. of Toronto. The same firm created a pair of two-minute direct response TV commercials for Sick Kids two years ago.
