BLOCKBUSTER PREPARES SPIDERMAN PROMO

Blockbuster Canada will hold a midnight sales event on Nov. 1 to promote the release of Spider-Man on DVD and video. Activities will take place at 375 Canadian Blockbuster stores. The first 200 customers at each event will be entered into a draw for a Sony projection TV, one of five life-size Spider-Man replicas or an Xbox game console with a Spider-Man game. A customer superhero costume contest will also be held at each store, the winners of which will receive a pass for one free rental per week for five weeks. The event is being promoted with in-store materials and online at <http://www.blockbuster.ca>. Materials supplied by Columbia Tri Star Home Video were customized for Blockbuster by Pi Media, which handled the Web site promotion, and Kickstart Marketing & Design, which did the collateral materials. Public relations for Blockbuster are handled by GCI Group of Toronto.
