MITSUBISHI CANADA BEGINS NATIONAL ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada began a national advertising campaign yesterday. Thirty- and 60-second television commericals as well as print advertising in daily newspapers will introduce the Mitsubishi brand to consumers. The automaker began selling its vehicles in Canada last month. The advertising will run from October to December. The first commercial, called "Anthem," features the song "Start the Commotion" by the Wise Guys. It promotes the Eclipse, Lancer, Galant, Montero, Montero Sport and Outlander models. Its tagline is "Are You In?" Two more TV ads will break in November. The first uses the song "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies to promote the 2002 Lancer. The second promotes the 2003 Eclipse using the song "Days Go By" by Dirty Vegas. Mitsubishi Motors is also holding contests at the Guvernment in Toronto, the Dome in Montreal and the Plaza Club in Vancouver, the winners of which will receive an Eclipse Coupe GS. Advertising for Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada is done by Deutsch Inc. of Toronto.
