PJ DDB CREATES CAMPAIGN FOR VANCOUVER AQUARIUM
By Adnews Staff
Vancouver-based Palmer Jarvis DDB has created a new out-of-home campaign for the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre aimed at the city's tourists and local residents. Four executions are running on transit shelters and in Skytrain stations. Each ad portrays a visitor's experience to the centre. The tagline is, "Marine life up close. Very close." In an ad called "Piranhas," a young boy stands in front of a tank of piranhas with a bite missing from his corn dog. In "Shark," a woman watches a shark tank without realizing her dog is missing. In "Octopus," a mother doesn't realize her toddler has been squirted with ink from an octopus. In the last ad, called "Eel," a pair of burnt sneakers surrounded by ashes sit in front of a tank containing an electric eel. The ads will run until Sept. 9. They will be accompanied by a television spot which first ran last year. In the commercial, a father mimicking a sea lion gets slapped in the face by the animal. This ad, called "The Slap," will run on local stations through the summer.
