TRUE NORTH ACQUIRES LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

Toronto-based True North Corp. has completed its acquisition of Local Knowledge Advertising & Promotions, based in Pointe Claire, PQ. The corporation announced its intent to buy the firm in March. Local Knowledge is a full-service advertising agency that offers creative and media buying services. Its clients include Tommy Hilfiger (Canada), Laura, Laura II, Laura Petites, Melanie Lynne, Budget Rent A Car, Le Chateau (Outlets) and The North Face. True North is a marketing communications company. Its clients include Ford Motor Co. of Canada, Kruger Inc. and Oxford Properties. "We're extremely excited about this acquisition," said True North CEO Mark Anthony. "Local Knowledge provides us with a strong and immediate presence in the province of Quebec."
