BURGER KING INTRODUCES CHICKEN WHOPPER

Toronto-based Burger King Restaurants of Canada Inc. will add new Chicken Whopper and Chicken Whopper JR. sandwiches to the menus of its 360 Canadian restaurants today. The items will replace the BK Broiler chicken sandwich which is being phased out. The Chicken Whopper and Chicken Whopper JR. consist of a chicken breast fillet topped with tomatoes, lettuce and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun. An English-language television commercial promoting the sandwiches will break on April 10. Created by L.A.-based Amoeba and adapted for Canada by Toronto-based Ammirati Puris, the spot depicts animated roosters clucking the Burger King theme song "Have It Your Way." The tagline is "@ BK You Got It." The television ad will be accompanied by English-language radio advertising, created by Ammirati, and in-restaurant materials. A radio campaign created by Montreal-based Communications Bleu Blanc Rouge will promote the introduction of the sandwiches in Quebec.
