CANADIAN MINT INVITES KIDS TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS FOR QUEEN
By Adnews Staff
The Royal Canadian Mint is holding a contest as part of its year-long Golden Jubilee program. Using a "Once upon a time" theme, the program celebrates the 50th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne. The contest, called "Royally Cool Kids' Golden Jubilee", runs until Sept. 13. Children five to 13 years of age can enter by answering the question "If you could ask Her Majesty the Queen one question, what would it be and why?" Four winners will receive a trip to Ottawa to visit the Mint in October in conjunction with the Queen's expected visit to Canada as part of her Golden Jubilee tour. The start of the contest coincides with the debut of a new children's area of the Mint's Web site at <http://www.mint.ca>. Called Royally Cool Money, the area was designed by 76 Design of Ottawa and contains information on coin collecting, contest details, games, puzzles and links. Creative for the Mint's Golden Jubilee program, including advertising and collateral materials, is being done by Wunderman.
