By Adnews Staff
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has awarded Vancouver-based Multivan Broadcast Corporation a license for a new ethnic television station in Vancouver. Multivan won the license over a competing application from CFMT-TV, a division of Rogers Communications. Multivan's new "MVBC" station will be the only locally owned and managed TV service in Vancouver, according to the company. It will offer programming aimed to 22 ethnic groups in as many languages. The license will expire on Aug. 31, 2008.
