TOYOTA CANADA ISSUES MAINTENANCE REMINDERS
By Adnews Staff
Toyota Canada of Toronto has begun a direct mail campaign to remind customers of the importance of routine automotive maintenance. This new customer satisfaction program is intended to help prevent to occurrence of engine oil sludging, which can reduce the life of an engine if not discovered. "We have developed a special goodwill program and supporting communications initiative to remind owners of the importance of regularly scheduled maintenance," said Toyota Canada's vice-president of corporate affairs Stephen Beatty. "Toyota has not found a single instance of sludging in a vehicle that has been properly serviced according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule." Direct mail pieces will be sent to owners of certain 1997-2001 Toyota and Lexus models reminding them of the importance of regular maintenance and promoting the convenience and peace of mind of having such work done at an authorized dealer.
