ICA PICKS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Toronto-based Institute of Communications & Advertising (formerly the Institute of Canadian Advertising) elected a new board of directors at its annual general meeting last week. Rupert Brendon was named president. Ian Saville of Cossette continues as chair. David Harrison of Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell is the past-chair. Jack Bensimon of Bensimon Byrne D'Arcy and Jacques Duval of Marketel were elected vice-chairs. Bensimon has also been named treasurer, while Paula Rose has been named secretary. The other board members for 2001/2002 are: Tony Altilia of Palmer Jarvis DDB, Jean Brault of Groupaction/JWT, Robert Bryant of TBWA/Chiat/Day, Domenic Caruso of MacLaren McCann Canada, John Clinton of Grey Canada, Rick Emberley of the Bristol Group, Arthur Fleischmann of John Street, Gerry Frascione of BBDO, Heather Fraser of Taxi, Gary Hendrick of Hendrick & Associates, Steve Parker of Corporate Communications, Tony Pigott of J. Walter Thompson, Serge Rancourt of Publicis Canada and Dennis Stief of Ogilvy & Mather. The ICA is a national industry association for communications and advertising agencies. It has about 90 members, representing roughly 85% of the industry in Canada.
