FERRERO RELEASES 2002 KINDER SURPRISE COLLECTION

Toronto-based Ferrero Canada Ltd. is promoting the release of its 2002 Kinder Surprise toy collection with television advertising, on-pack promotion and an updated Web site. Ferrero's Kinder Surprise products are milk chocolate eggs containing collectible toys. Each year the company produces a new collection of toys to collect. The 30-second television ad, called "Action Convention", was created by Garneau Würstlin Philp Brand Engineering of Toronto. It began running in English Canada on October 1 on YTV, Teletoon and Discovery Kids. In the spot an animated Kinder Surprise spokescharacter introduces the 2002 collection and describes the "Double Your Surprise" on-pack promotion. In this contest kids can instantly win a prize by finding one of 30,000 winning inserts in an egg. The promotion, which is also being supported with in-store materials, is being handled by The Gencom Group of Toronto. Ferrero is also promoting the new collection online at <http://www.kindersurprise.com>. The company used Pivot Design of Toronto to update the Web site in mid-September. Visitors to the site can play a "Kinder Surprise vs. The Clockwork Ducks" game created in partnership with YTV. The online game can also be accessed through the <http://www.ytv.com> Web site.
