NBA CANADA HOOPS-IT-UP, HOLDS DRIBBLE AND DRIVE CHALLENGE

Toronto-based NBA Canada is in the midst of its fifth annual Hoop-It-Up promotion. The three-on-three basketball tournament, produced by Host, Events & Experiences of Dallas, TX, allows players eight years and older to register a team of up to four members to participate in tournaments ranging from recreational to elite. Before the program wraps up next month, it will visit Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. The tournament has already passed through Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and London, ON. Online promotion for the program at <http://www.nba.com/canada> and <http://www.hoopitup.com> is supported by local media sponsors who promote the program in each city. National associate sponsors of the program include Game Boy Advance, Gatorade, iD, Juicy Fruit, Nike and Spalding. National on-site spnsors include Canada 3000 and TSN.

The NBA Dribble and Drive Challenge has also begun its tour of 30 cities across Canada, offering participants a free skills competition which tests dribbling, jumping, passing and shooting abilities. Participants receive scores based on their performances and can visit the NBA.com/canada Web site to compare their results with NBA players and other Dribble and Drive participants. Produced by Match Marketing Group of Toronto, the Dribble and Drive Challenge runs through August. Sponsors of the Dribble and Drive Challenge include Canada 3000, CTV, Game Boy Advance, Juicy Fruit, Nike and Spalding.
