MEDIACOM UNVEILS NEW TRANSIT SHELTER
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Mediacom will unveil a new transit shelter design today as part of its seven-year, multi-million dollar advertising contract with the City of Toronto. The design was created by Kramer Design Associates of Toronto. It consists of a clear roof, glass sides and backlit advertising displays. Four hundred shelters are scheduled to be built this year, while 425 shelters are to be installed in 2002. A new scrolling mechanism will be built into 25 of the new shelters which will allow three advertisements to be rotated in a 15-second loop. Mediacom won the transit shelter advertising contract for Toronto last summer. The agreement included the seven separate shelter contracts that were in effect prior to the city's amalgamation.
