AIDS COMMITTEE OF TORONTO BEGINS AWARENESS EFFORT

ACT The Aids Committee of Toronto began an awareness initiative called "Welcome to Condom Country" yesterday, coinciding with the first day of Pride, a week-long celebration of the gay, lesbian bisexual, transsexual and transgender communities. The campaign, created by Naked Creative Consultancy of Toronto, targets gay men. Campaign executions will run on transit shelters and in subways and newspapers. Additional marketing components will include brochures, postcards, coasters and posters in bars and restaurants and street banners at community events. In September a television ad and public service announcements will air, continuing the campaign into the winter. Advertising is being supported with public relations from Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto.
