XEROX CLOSES SOHO BUSINESS
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Xerox Canada announced yesterday it is withdrawing from the small office home office equipment market. The company will discontinue production of its line of personal inkjet printers, copiers and xerographic products. Current inventory of the company's SOHO products will be sold through its existing retail channels. Service, support and supplies for SOHO customers will continue to be provided. Larry Vogel, spokesperson for Xerox Canada, said the company plans to focus on its core competencies, particularly in the areas of colour printing and office services. The company's worldwide AOR is Young & Rubicam, the agency behind last year's "Smarter Breed" ad campaign for the M Series line of inkjet printers. Xerox also works with Sharpe Blackmore EURO RSCG of Toronto on Canada-specific campaigns.
