NEW MEDIA COMPANY HANGS OUT SIGN OF THE TIMES

M2 Universal veteran Jeff Wills has launched Sign of the Times Media Inc. Based in Markham, ON, the new company specializes in what Wills calls "alternative media solutions." Initially the company is offering clients three outdoor and interactive media: taxi advertising through U.S.-based Taxi Vision, in-store touch screen kiosks through Toronto-based Neatt Corporation's Neatt Interactive Media Network, and car wraps through Impressions on the Go, also of Markham. "We decided to offer advertisers something different in outdoor and interactive media that will have effective impact," Wills said. Taxi Vision brought its taxicab advertising system to Canada earlier this year. The system, which is rolling out in more than 1,000 Toronto cabs, consists of illuminated taxi top advertising, window backs and an interactive digital video screen inside the car. Neatt's Interactive Media network also begins rolling out this month in Pharma Plus stores in Toronto, Ottawa, Kitchener and London. Impressions on the Go, which pay consumers to have their cars wrapped with advertising for a period of time, will also initially rollout in the Toronto market. Wills said in addition to the above media, Sign of the Times Media is also representing an urban culture magazine called Pound. Public relations for Sign of the Times Media are being handled by Hunter LaVigne Media of Toronto.
