Eller Canada flipped the switch on its latest outdoor video display board, which it calls "Colorvision", last week in conjunction with a free lunch hour concert in downtown Toronto by rock group R.E.M.. The media company's new video board measures 30' x 40' and is located on the Atrium Media Tower on the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Dundas Street just north the Toronto Eaton Centre. The video board's display runs in a continuous 15 minute loop of silent video. Advertisements last 30 seconds, 15 seconds, 10 seconds or five seconds. Creative is typically adapted from existing video or print ads, said the company. Initial advertisers include CTV, The Globe & Mail, Warner Brothers/AOL, Rogers Media, Rogers Wireless and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. The lunch hour concert was organized by entertainment company SFX and fed live into the video display board by Toronto's Citytv, which also plans to broadcast the concert on TV next month.
